Hey music fans, it is time for another Q&A! This time, we asked Jong SL some questions:
1) Who are your musical influences?
My main influences come from various artists, chords progressions from Jazz and Korean artists like Crush and Dean, beautiful sound from Coldplay, guitar playing from John Mayer.
2) If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to perform literally anywhere to anyone. It doesn’t matter as long as I can share my music to people!
3) What is your favorite part about being a musician?
I love the creating process. I sometimes get gross bumps from making music!
4) What is the toughest thing about performing?
The toughest thing about performing is making sure you stay focused and relaxed at the same time! Sometimes I’m too relaxed and I lose engagement without the audience or I forget lyrics. And sometimes I’m too focused that I just close my eyes the entire time! We’re striving for a good balance between the two.
5) Congratulations on the new EP! What do you want to tell us about it?
Thank you!! I want to say, it was my first time writing full songs for myself. It was my first try at songwriter/singer! I was a fresh noobie a year ago when I wrote it and recorded it. Anyways, it’s a collection of the first 5 songs I wrote! It’s about my feelings in that particular time, right now I don’t really feel that way! It’s amazing how I can document my feelings in a certain time-period and people relate to it!
6) What is your favorite song from the EP?
My favorite song is Deep Sea, It’s the very first song I written. It’s about how most life problems/struggles are temporary.
7) What would you like to say to your fans/followers?
I want to say, Thank you so much. It’s the beginning of the journey and I’m grateful that my fans are a part of it.
